UNAGED (the images show them aged) pewter baking trays

These lovely little trays take me back to my youth when baking trays would patina and almost have a slightly rusty appearence. Mum use to keep a selection of these trays ready for baking little cakes. It's very nostagic for me.

The trays will be supplied unaged but it you wish to achieve the same finish as me then this is how you do it: I used a metal aging solution diluted with water, a 50/50 mix, to ensure the metal did not turn black. I think the technique which was super easy was quite effective. Leave in longer for a much deeper aging finish. Remove then rinse in water - important any solution remaining on the metal will continue to age the metal and eventually will create a slight rust effect.

I thought that the trays would look great on a preparation table with a mixing bowl (see my listings) and flour and dough etc. You could also use them as a polymer clay mould to extract a pattern onto the actual clay to produce finished madeleines (little French sponge cakes).  The three images of cakes are real life cakes!!
